Since 1st July 2008 the Czech Ministry of Transport has introduced a brand new road signs „Obligatory Winter Equipment” and “The End of Obligatory Winter Equipment” (see pictures). On road stretches signposted by this road sign a driver is obliged to drive a vehicle with winter tyres with at least 4 mm deep design (in case of personal cars) or 6 mm (in case of vehicles over 3,5 tonnes).
