The Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic has decided to join the EC Second Road Safety Day, which will be held under the French presidency on 13th October 2008. As number of persons killed in urban roads grows in the Czech Republic the Czech Ministry of Transport and its Road Safety Department (BESIP) welcomes this important initiative a decides to implement following actions related to this Week.
During October 2008 the Ministry of Transport will execute:
- New national – wide campaign under the slogan „If you do not think, you will pay!“ against main traffic offences – aggressive driving, drinking and driving, speeding and not seat belt wearing. The campaign starts on 1st October and it will last for two years.
- From the second half of October there will be contest on web called „Safe on the roads“ targeted on pupils of elementary schools. The content of the contest will be knowledge of topics related to road safety.
- At the end of October the winter series of The Action – BESIP Tour will start. This multimedia project is targeted on young people behind the wheel and belongs to the most important projects of the Czech Ministry of Transport.
