Children from the Czech Republic won the Bronze Medal in the European Road Safety Contest in Ljubljana, Slovenia

 

The 23rd  final of the European Road Safety Contest was organised on 27th September in Ljubljana, Slovenia. 22 teams consisting of 2 boys and 2 girls from 21 countries compete in their theoretical knowledge of the Highway Code, rules of safe behaviour on the road, solving situations on junctions and in practical skills riding a bicycle. The new item of the contest was finding of the safest route from school home on the map.

The Czech Republic was represented by the team of the Elementary School of Castolovice, region Rychnov nad Kneznou, winner of the National Final of the Traffic Contest of Young Cyclists and the team won the bronze medal.

The Ministry of Transport, Road Safety Department (BESIP) is for a long time the enunciator of the Traffic Contest of Young Cyclists in the Czech Republic and it is  its methodological guarantee.
